Inland Cellular to Bring Expanded Services and Choices to Customers

Lewiston, ID – June 16, 2014 – Today, Inland Cellular (Inland) announced an agreement with Sprint (NYSE: S) that will soon allow Inland customers access to high-speed 4G LTE services and a wider range of wireless devices.  As part of Sprint’s Rural Roaming Preferred Program, Inland will have the ability to roam on Sprint’s Nationwide LTE network.  This will be in addition to Inland’s current nationwide 3G coverage so subscribers can enjoy the benefits of a robust nationwide 4G LTE network with a wide variety of devices.

“We are excited about the direction in which Inland Cellular is moving,” said Chip Damato, Director of Business Strategies for Inland.  “Our subscribers are our primary focus, and this new relationship will give our customers competitive high speed services across the nation, enabling them to experience all of the features and benefits available in a 4G LTE environment.  It will also provide access to the latest devices and services.  This program will greatly benefit current and future subscribers, and we look forward to our work with Sprint on this initiative.”

While Inland has partnered with Sprint for many years to provide nationwide coverage, this agreement is different because it provides for faster data service and the latest devices.

“Through unique and flexible deals with carriers like Sprint, we will be able to continue our commitment to provide better coverage, a faster network and a wider selection of lower-cost wireless devices to all customers,” said Damato.

Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) President & CEO Steven K. Berry said, “I am very pleased the Rural Roaming Preferred Program is helping carriers like Inland, a CCA member, expand 4G LTE services and provide consumers with competitive choices.”

Inland Cellular is a locally owned and operated wireless communications company, providing nationwide voice and data services since 1990, with a view to enhance customers’ mobile lives with an exceptional customer-focused wireless experience. I have a Galaxy S5…that has 3g….will this phone be capable of the 4g?

    • Alex Bosshardt on August 19, 2015 at 3:38 pm

      Kirk,
Unfortunately the S5 is not 4G compatible. We do have a current promotion running that includes a $75 buyout that could potentially help get you into a new 4G capable device. If you call our Sales Office, they can look at your account and tell you how much it would cost to get into a new device. 208-798-0245

What about the iPhone 6? Will I get 4g or will I need to change phones

    • Alex Bosshardt on August 28, 2015 at 9:52 am

Derek, your Iphone is 4G compatible, but at the moment it will not get 4G. In the near future, you will be able to come into our Sales Office to get a SIM card and then your phone will be 4G capable.

      • Cody on October 16, 2015 at 10:12 am

Why can’t you do this with the S5? It has a SIM slot.

        • Alex Bosshardt on October 19, 2015 at 11:06 am

Cody, we can’t use a SIM in an S5 because the phones are locked. It has to do with provisioning and our S5’s are not equipped to work with SIM, unfortunately.

My husband has an iphone6 but he has had some problems with transmission quality. We bought the phone and the Inland Cellular plan june 2015. Should I bring his iphone6 to Inland Cellular to change out his sim card?

        Thanks much.

        Mary

PS: I have not been on this site much (due to workload) but had to update my credit card and thought I”d check things out.

        • Randi Winchel on January 9, 2017 at 1:08 pm

Mary, it would be easiest to troubleshoot in person, just stop by your nearest Inland Cellular location and a rep will be able to assist you. Thanks for stopping by our site.

  5. Ken5 on September 15, 2015 at 11:17 am

You make the announcement in june, here it is september and j stkll don’t have 4g so whats the hold up

    • Alex Bosshardt on September 16, 2015 at 8:00 am

We do have 4G in the valley, but only three phones are compatible with 4G at this time, the Samsung S6 (both editions), LG G Flex 2 and the LG G4.
We are currently running a special of $100 off the Samsung S6 and S6 Edge if you are interested in getting into a 4G compatible phone.

  6. Ken on September 16, 2015 at 10:10 am

I understand that there is 4g in the valley. Mine phone is 4g compatible when you put the sim card on. That’s what I’m asking, when will soon cards be available?

    • Alex Bosshardt on September 21, 2015 at 9:27 am

      Yes Ken, very soon!
We are finishing up the last touches for the change to SIM cards! If you’d like to give us your number, someone would be more than willing to call you when you’ll be able to come get a SIM card.

  7. Dan F on September 20, 2015 at 2:57 pm

I have the iPhone 6, do I have to take it into a store to get 4g or will it be automatic

    • Alex Bosshardt on September 21, 2015 at 9:28 am

Dan, you will have to bring your phone into the store to get a SIM card, and after your SIM card is activated, you will have 4G!

  8. Dan F on September 25, 2015 at 6:24 am

Alex, I’m in College Place, I went into the store and they told me 4g isn’t available here, so how long till it is?

    • Alex Bosshardt on September 29, 2015 at 11:30 am

We do not have a set date for College Place to get 4G at the moment. But when the time does come, it will not cost you to upgrade.

  9. Dan F on September 25, 2015 at 6:27 am

Another question, is this upgrade going to cost me anything?

    • Alex Bosshardt on October 7, 2015 at 9:13 am

Dan, the upgrade will be free. Unfortunately we do not have a set date for when College Place will be getting 4G. We will do our best to keep you updated!

  10. Sheila C on October 6, 2015 at 9:03 pm

I have an iphone6plus, and live in Grangeville. Is 4G available to me? If so, can it be done locally or do I have to go to Lewiston?

    • Alex Bosshardt on October 7, 2015 at 9:09 am

Sheila, there is not 4G in Grangeville quite yet, but you can go into our office in Grangeville to get your phone updated with a SIM card, which in turn would give you the capability to get 4G in other areas where it is available.

  11. Samantha on October 15, 2015 at 5:45 pm

I have heard some rumors about Inland Cellular having a promotion going on at the moment for 50 dollars a month for unlimited talk text and 2 gig of Data with the Galaxy S6 for 50 dollars with the contract because of a rebate. This is Accurate Information and if so, do I need to come into the store to qualify for the purchase or can I finalize over the internet or phone?

    • Alex Bosshardt on October 19, 2015 at 8:09 am

If you are a current Inland Cellular customer looking to renew your contract, you can get a $100 credit if you turn in your current working device, which in turn could be used toward a S6. Or if you’re a new customer to Inland, you can turn in your working device and get up to $300 which would cover most of the cost of an S6. Unfortunately $50 a month is not a current promotion. Depending on which S6 you want (S6 Edge, or the flat, 32 or 64 gig) the prices range from $199-$349 on a 2 year contract.

  12. Hector on November 13, 2015 at 2:10 pm

I am current customer of Inland, I live in Prescott Wa, more specifically in Broetje Orchards ( Vista Hermosa ), I am pretty sure you guys have a lot of customers from here!
Anyway my question is if 4G speed is available in this area yet?
If not is there any plan to bring this speed any soon?
Right now I have a Galaxy S5, and I am thinking of upgrading to a Galaxy S6, which is capable to 4G speeds, but if that speed in not available yet in this area, I may going to wait.
Thanks a lot for your help/time.

    • Randi Winchel on November 13, 2015 at 2:42 pm

      Hector,
We are tentatively planning to have 4G service in Broetje Orchards early to mid 2016. We are running excellent incentives to upgrade to an LTE device. If you upgraded then you’d get a great deal on a device and you’d be ready when the 4G service is up and running in your area.

      • Hector on November 13, 2015 at 4:12 pm

        Great news!
So if I upgrade to a LTE device before 4G is available in my area, is this going to work as 4G in other areas where 4g is on right now isn’t?
are you guys offering great deals for Christmas?

        • Randi Winchel on November 16, 2015 at 11:05 am

Yes Hector, if you upgrade your device you will get LTE service in other areas that have it now! Our promotions roll out next week, stay tuned for amazing deals.

  13. Adam on December 20, 2015 at 5:02 pm

My daughter just switched from Verizon to Inland. She would get a notification that she had a voicemail on Verizon but nothing is showing up on the Inland phone (iPhone 6). Is there a way to make this work? Otherwise, how will she know she’s got a message? Also, will she have to type her password in every time. Seems way more complicated than with Verizon. Thanks.

    • Jon Robison on December 21, 2015 at 10:12 am

Adam, your daughter will first have to set up her voicemail by tapping the icon, then it will ask for a password, the default Inland Cellular password is 6426. It will then ask her to change her password and set up her greeting. Once this is done it will trigger her voicemail and she will be able to retrieve her current voicemails.

  14. Jessi on March 1, 2016 at 1:54 pm

Are there any new updates when 4G will be available to Inland customers?

    • Randi Winchel on March 1, 2016 at 3:58 pm

Jessi, 4G is available to the majority of customers currently, however we are still expanding 4G service into some areas. Where do you live?

  15. matt on March 18, 2016 at 11:30 am

Is there word on when 4G roaming will be available?

    • Randi Winchel on March 21, 2016 at 12:15 pm

Matt, our tentative timeline for LTE Roaming is early summer.

      Thanks!

  16. Randy on August 28, 2016 at 6:57 am

We currently have Verizon service and live in Spokane. We have property on ID Highway 9 between Deary & Harvard. Our cell service was limited so we purchased signal booster. That worked fine for about a year 2013-14. Then all signal was lost. In the spring of 2016, a new cell tower was erected on Spud Hill at Deary. We received 1X service bun no 4g. Our friend has Inland service and gets 4 bars of 4g. Is it possible to purchase our cell services from Inland where we live in Spokane?

  17. Luis on October 12, 2016 at 3:45 am

I have a Huawei P8 LTE. Can i use it with a Inland sim card for voice and data?

    • Randi Winchel on October 12, 2016 at 10:21 am

      Luis,
Some Huawei phones are compatible with our network, but that depends on the model. The best way to tell would be to bring the phone into our sales office and we can put in a test SIM to confirm it will work.

  18. Tyler Chapman on October 31, 2016 at 9:33 pm

My wife and I just signed a 2 year contract with you guys, we have no complaints so far but we are wondering on how upgrading goes, we currently have the Samsung S6’s and would like to upgrade to the iPhone 6, but we don’t know when we would be able to make that happen. We signed up with you guys back in September and we are wondering if an upgrade for the both of us is free or if there is a fee.

    • Randi Winchel on November 1, 2016 at 9:04 am

      Hello Tyler,
Glad to hear you’re happy with your service. We have a 30 day customer satisfaction policy, where within 30 days you can exchange the phone for a different one. Your two year contract will be up in September of 2018 and you can upgrade then, or if you choose to buyout your contract you can do that also. A customer service rep will be able to discuss the details of a buyout with you if you’d like, just call 800-248-8822.
